Shadows & Stone: Evening Experience

Name of event: Shadows & Stone: Evening Experience 

Dates: Thursday nights from June 27 to August 29, 2024 

Times: 8 p.m., 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Description: 

Grab a lantern and discover the shadows of the past as you explore the darkened 17th century historic mission of Sainte-Marie. 

 

Watch the sparks fly in the blacksmith shop. Roast bannock on a stick. Hear the creatures of the Wye River stir to life. Sip tea by the crackling fire in the longhouse, listen to Indigenous stories, and imagine what Wendake would have been like in the 1600s at night. 

 

This is a small-group experience. Advanced tickets are highly recommended to avoid disappointment. 

 

Tickets: $ 20 tax included – not recommended for kids 10 and under

This summer, Tay Township is proud to present "Music in the Park," a series of live music events set against the picturesque backdrop of our community parks. This family-friendly initiative aims to bring the joy of music to residents and visitors alike every Sunday afternoon.

  • Port McNicoll: Patterson Park, 180 Patterson Blvd, 1pm-3pm
  • Victoria Harbour: Gazebo Park, 91 Albert St., 3pm-5pm

Veterans and Serving Members Coffee Break Events

The Royal Canadian Legion Beaverbrook Branch 316 in Waubaushene will be hosting a Veterans and Serving Members Coffee Break

Providing a place to meet and greet each other, talk, renew old friendships, check on a buddy you haven't seen in a while or just come and be part of the group.  Legion membership is not required. 

CF Members, Reservists and Retired Veterans of the Canadian and Allied Navy, Army and Air Forces.

When: Tuesday, August 6, 2024

Deadly or Delicious? Events

Ever walk through the forest and wonder which plants are tasty, which ones have healing powers, and which ones are toxic?
 
Find out the answers when you join us at the Wye Marsh to learn about some of the edible, medicinal, and poisonous plants living here. Gain an understanding of how to properly identify these plants, how some can be used beneficially, and the properties that make others harmful. Investigate these plants on a guided hike and create your own mini field guide to take home!
 
Where: Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre, 16160 Hwy 12 E, Midland
When: 9:30 am – 11:30 am
How much: $25
Who: 10+ (Children under 16 are to be accompanied by an adult)
 
Please note – this is not a foraging workshop as it is illegal to remove plants from a National Wildlife Area. Also remember to wear long pants, hiking shoes, and bring bug spray!

Georgian Bay Tugboat Festival Events

9:00 PM| 165 King St, Midland Ontario L4R 3L8

Georgian Bay Tugboat Festival will be held at the Midland Harbour and hosted by the Town of Midland. The Festival will feature a parade of lights at dusk and music on the pier Friday August 16, 2024. Then a full day of activities 10am-4pm on Saturday August 17, 2024 with free admission to the festival. This family friendly event will have lots of fun activities, face painting, live music, buskers, vendors, and demonstrations! 

While you’re there, you don’t want to miss the Northern Rib Series Midland Rib and Beer Fest in Harbourside Park with live music and carnival food favourites, as well as the midway carnival rides happening at the Habrour.
